Experience-Sharing Seminar on TEM-4 Test Preparation Successfully Held in International College

To help students of English majors learn more about TEM-4, understand the rules of the test, clarify the direction of test preparation and improve the efficiency of English learning, our college held the TEM-4 test preparation experience sharing seminar at 2:15 p.m. on December 15th in Room 201. Grade 2019 undergraduate and junior college students majoring in Business English attended this seminar, the lecturer of which is Ms. Li Wenye.

At the beginning of the seminar, Ms. Li analyzed the importance and value of TEM-4 to the students and explained the passing rate of the test in recent years. Ms. Li also systematically shared her learning methods and preparation experience from three aspects: examination process, coping strategies and reference materials. As for the listening part, she gave guidance on how to prepare for listening content, listening methods and speaking speed of the recordings. She mentioned that everyone should concentrate on the listening test and use proper methods. In terms of the writing part, she reminded students to summarize key sentence patterns and grammatical structures in daily English writing, and to use their spare time to do more readings. About the cloze test and reading part, she pointed out that these two types of questions require students a large amount of accumulation in reading in daily life. Everyone should practise more, pay attention to the time limit and improve the speed of answering questions. Finally, Ms. Li stressed that students need to adjust their mentality and take the exam calmly. In the interactive session, students enthusiastically asked questions and the teacher made a detailed analysis and explanation with specific examples to these questions, so that students can understand the scientific methods of preparing for the exam and strength their confidence during the preparation.

The trumpet of TEM-4 test has been blown in advance upon this seminar which made the students who are preparing for the exam have a deeper and clearer understanding of the test and helped them optimize their learning methods. At the same time, the seminar also helps to build a good learning atmosphere in our college.
