On the afternoon of September 5th, the welcome meeting and the first lecture for 2022 upgraded-undergraduate freshmen from the International College was held in the library lecture hall. The attendees were Guo Hang, vice president of GCC and dean of the International College, Li Junpeng, general secretary of the Party branch of the International College, Long Haiying and Hong Zhenhua, vice deans of the International College, teachers' representatives and counselors from the International College, and all the 2022 upgraded-undergraduate freshmen. The meeting was presided over by Li Junpeng.

        Guo Hang extended a warm welcome to all the freshmen and in his speech, he explained to the students the connotation of the school motto “seeking truth, building faith, and practise earnestly” which should be kept in mind. Students need to aim high in their study and life, constantly enrich themselves, integrate the ego into the larger self, and be dream catchers in the new era. He hopes that all the freshmen will persist in physical exercise, actively participate in various competitions and cultural and sports activities, form a good habit of keeping fit, and pursue a healthy and energetic life.

        Vice dean Long Haiying said in her speech that she hopes the students are able to change their roles as soon as possible, pay full attention to their undergraduate studies, and plan their future study and life as soon as possible. Vice dean Hong Zhenhua shared his learning experience with the freshmen, and encouraged them to keep lifelong learning, set ambitious goals, and take the road of life with confidence. The teachers' representatives at the meeting made wonderful self-introductions one by one and gave suggestions to the students.
