At 10 a.m. local time on January 5, after 10 hours of a long flight, 10 students from Guangzhou College of Commerce International School accompanied by their lead teacher Lu Tan arrived in Adelaide airport. One of the project leader Helen and host families warmly received the students in the air port. After that, the students followed the host families back to prepare for their anticipated trip to Adelaide, Australia.
The following is the students' first experience of the first day in Adelaide:
Chen Xiaowen: after a 10-hour flight, homestay came to the airport to pick me up. Although the I was a little bit nervous ah the first meeting, the atmosphere was very good. I could not open my mouth to the beginning, but in the end I stat to show myself. It was a lovely day with the homestay. I am looking forward tomorrow.
Zhou Peiyuan: When I first came to Adelaide, I felt that the people here were very warm and helpful. The city is very quiet, people can calm down and enjoy their life. The host families are also very hospitable and I will enjoy my next days in Adelaide.
Jiang Qiuyi: We arrived in Adelaide, but the airport broke my understanding of Adelaide, I thought that Adelaide should be summer, but the temperature out of the airport is colder than the winter in Guangzhou. The host family is an old couple. They are very warm and friendly. On the first day, they took me to a supermarket in Australia. After one day, I found that my oral English was still not able to communicate with native speaker. I will try my best to improve it in the following courses.
