The first advantage is experienced, approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education, the Guangzhou college of Commerce signed an agreement with the University of Southern Queensland, Australia, to jointly organize the "International Accounting" undergraduate cooperative education project. This project is the first undergraduate level Sino-foreign cooperative education project in Guangdong Province. The second advantage is Comprehensive. The Guangzhou college of Commerce has signed cooperation agreements with more than 114 well-known universities in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan and other countries, to organize 8 Sino-foreign cooperative education projects, such as "Chinese-Foreign Cooperative Double Degree Programs", "International Joint Cultivation Double Degree Programs", "Main and Auxiliary Double Professional Innovation Class Projects", "Sino-foreign Specialized Book Continuous International Program Projects", " China-Australia International Accounting Independent Enrollment Project" It helps to form an international education pattern which integrates college degree, undergraduate, and postgraduate. The college adopts "Four classrooms" platform to cultivate student to obtain global capability and insight. The first approach is to optimize the professional course design, which integrate the Chinese national conditions and political conditions, Chinese traditional culture, cross-cultural communication ability, foreign language ability, information processing ability, critical thinking training and the international knowledge for global governance. The second approach is to facilitate campus cultural activities as the second classroom education function. The college Takes the International Cultural Festival as an opportunity, to organizing excellent activities, such as "Model United Nations" special event and "New Era International Organization Talent" and other excellent talent training camps to improve students’ English learning ability. The college also organizes the China-Foreign Cooperation Exchange Association and conduct surveys and research which related to global governance. Meanwhile, the college participates massive Innovative projects declaration which related to global well-around education in order to cultivate students' global awareness and ability. The third approach is to strengthen the construction of the third classroom based on the off-campus internship training platform. The college helps students to grow in different fields and culture through international summer camps, short-term study abroad, social practice and other international volunteer training opportunities by cooperate with overseas universities, government departments, non-governmental organizations, multinational companies. The fourth approach is to facilitate the construction of the fourth classroom based on the information technology and platform. The college reforms teaching models, restructure learning environment, optimize education resource and reshape evaluation measurement to support college students ’global well- around education, by using excellent online courses which shared by different universities across the country and even world-renowned universities in platforms such as the "University City" cloud platform, "Superstar" cloud platform, and China Moses.
Achievements and Honors
In the past 20 years of internationalization, GCC has cultivated graduates of 17 international programs. Over 40% of graduates in the past three years were to obtain master’s degree overseas, while 54.8% of graduates upgrading to master’s degrees have been admitted to top 100 universities of QS World University Rankings. It has been particularly prominent in 2019 and 2020. In 2019, 67.3% of graduates upgrading to master's degrees were admitted to top 100 universities of QS World University Rankings, and in 2020, 91.7% of graduates from the sino-foreign cooperative education program pursuing master's degrees were enrolled in top 100 universities of QS World University Rankings. With development of more than 20 years, the internationalization of GCC has made remarkable achievements. GCC was selected as “Sino-Foreign Partner College with National Brand Competitiveness” in 2017 and “Vice-Chair Member Organization of Branch for Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools, Guangdong Association of Higher Education” in 2021.
In recent years, the International College teachers have made fruitful achievements in teaching and research. In November 2020, the Guangdong Provincial Quality Engineering Project - Sino-foreign Cooperative Education Language Teaching Team Project was completed; In September 2020, the provincial specialty major Accounting was established in cooperation with the College of Accounting; Over 30 core journals were published; More than 20 provincial and municipal level research projects were approved; 2 members from our faculty was awarded the honorary title of "Excellent Teacher in Southern Guangdong"; 7 translated works has been published; More than 310 awards in disciplinary competitions, 49 provincial awards and 22 national awards were obtained; 1 key project of the "Climbing Plan", and 4 general projects were approved.
